This is a review of a split ep between Idaho's Hummingbird Of Death and Raid which was released by Give Praise Records and we will start off the review with Hummingbird Of Death a band that plays a mixture of thrash, grind, power violence and crossover.
Their side of the split starts out with a very fast and raw hardcore punk sound along with some angry shouting vocals and death metal growls and the music also utilizes a great amount of blast beats and some of the songs also bring in melodic riffing and there is also a brief use of high pitched screams and you can also hear the influence of thrash in some of the songs and on the last track guitar leads are brought into t he music and the riffing also slows down a bit, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover angry themes.
In my opinion Hummingbird Of Death are a very great sounding mixture of thrash, grind, power violence and crossover and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Punch Out".
Next up is Raid a band that plays thrashcore.
Their side of the split starts out with an 80's style hardcore punk sound and shouting vocals while you can also hear the heaviness of thrash in the music and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to t hem and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts, the production sounds very old school while the lyrics cover real life themes.
In my opinion Raid are a very great sounding thrashcore band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out t heir side of the split. RECOMMENDED TRACK "My Disorder".
In conclusion I feel this is a very great sounding split and I would recommend it to all fans of thrash, punk and grind. 8 out of 10.
