Coldworker/The Doomsayer's Call/Listenable Records/2012 CD Review

Coldwoker  are  a  band  from  Sweden that  plays  a  mixture  of  death  metal  and  crust/grindcore  and  this is  a  review  of  their  2012  album  "The  Doomsayer's  Call"  which  was  released  by  Listenable  Records.

Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming with  a  good  amount  of  blast  beats  being  thown into  the  music,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  is  coming  out  of  the  guitars  and  at  times  they  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  riffing  that  combines  death  metal  with  crust/grindcore  mixed  in  with  some  melodies,  while  the  lead  guitars  are  very  chaotic  sounding  death  metal  guitar  solos  and  leads  that  are  melodic  at  times.

Vocals  are  a  mixture  of  deep  death  metal  growls  and  high  pitched  grindcore  screams  with  a  brief use  of  spoken  word  parts  and  whispers,  while  the  lyrics  cover  hateful  and  violent  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  strong,  powerful  and  professional  sound  to  it.

In  my  opinion  Coldworker  are  a  very  great  sounding  death  metal/grindcore  hybrid  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  style,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "The Reprobate"  "Murderous"  "The  Walls  Of  Eryx"  and  "The  Phanton  Carriage".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
